15-year old hockey goalie Rosalyn Lim-de Castro dreams of going to the Olympics. The Rockaway Beach resident started playing hockey when she was just 6 years old and has since gone on to goaltend for teams around the world, impressing coaches wherever she goes with her fluid style. If she continues her current momentum, her chances of playing in the 2022 winter games in Beijing are looking more and more likely.

After receiving MVP honors in her first tournament playing with Team Pilipinas, the Philippine Olympic Committee invited her to represent the Philippines in their efforts to qualify for the 2022 games. Castro will live in the Philippines for two years in order to meet the residency requirements of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and Team Pilipinas. So, Castro is leaving her Beach 96th Street home to embark on an adventure in her family’s native country that might very well lead to Beijing.
